NORFOLK, Va. – Over the next three weeks Old Dominion Athletics will announce the gameday activities for each of this year’s six home games, as the Monarchs host Liberty on Saturday, Sept. 27.

The game time against the Flames will be announced the Monday of the previous week with ESPN deciding the TV platform.
This is the sixth all-time meeting between ODU and Liberty with the Flames holding a 4-1 edge and have won four-straight in the series.
Set sail with ODU Football on Saturday, September 27 as the Monarchs take on Liberty for Maritime Appreciation and Hall of Fame Weekend. This game honors the rich maritime heritage of Hampton Roads with special ticket pricing and group packages available for all members of the maritime community, including shipbuilders, port workers, and naval personnel. Throughout the evening, ODU will also celebrate its newest Athletics Hall of Fame inductees, recognizing the legends who have left a lasting impact on Monarch history. There will be a hall of fame dinner the night before the game with the Jeff and Billye Chernitzer Induction ceremony. In addition, we’ll shine a spotlight on local educators as part of the Extra Yard for Teachers initiative — a nationwide effort to honor and support teachers who go the extra mile for their students. It’s a night of tradition, recognition, and regional pride you won’t want to miss.
Kaufman Mall
The exciting pregame atmosphere returns at Kaufman Mall beginning four hours prior to kickoff. A local band will perform live on Kaufman Mall beginning four hours prior to kickoff. Stop by Kaufman Mall to enjoy the beer garden, the top food trucks in Virginia, games, and interactive experiences in the Kids Zone.
Stop by the ODU marketing tent for giveaways and special activations from our partners and stay tuned for additional programming. Two hand a half hours before kickoff, the Monarch March Band, under the direction of David Enloe, will get the crowd roaring with a 15-minute performance. Two hours and 15 minutes before kickoff, the football team will come through Kaufman Mall on their way to the stadium as fans lineup to cheer on the Monarch March to the stadium.
