NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion men’s basketball is headed to Costa Rica this August.

The Monarchs will travel to San José and Los Sueños on August 10-17 to play three teams from Costa Rica’s First Division. In addition, the trip will include a walking tour of San José, an ATV tour, zip lining, and a community service project with a local school in San José.

“We are very excited for this trip to Coast Rica,” said ODU Head Coach Mike Jones. “It will provide us with a tremendous opportunity to compete as a unit on the court AND to grow closer off the court. Molding our returners with the new faces, this helps us to prepare for what will be an exciting 2025-2026 basketball season.”

It will be the program's first trip abroad since August 16-25, 2025 when the Monarchs went to Spain.

Fans will be able to follow along on the team’s social media accounts: @ODU Basketball on Facebook, @ODU_MBB on X, and @odu_mbb on Instagram.
