NORFOLK, Va. - The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association released its 2025 Scholar-Athlete Awards with seven Monarchs being selected for their academic excellence, as announced by the CRCA on Wednesday.

The award recognizes collegiate rowers who demonstrate both a strong commitment to success in the classroom and out on the water. The requirements for being selected include having a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and must have rowed in at least 75% of the team’s races in the spring in an NCAA or IRA eligible boat. Sydnee Blackburn, Lucy Brennan, Nicole DiBacco, Austin Douglas, Madeleine Enns, Behak Kimman, and Nicole Knight earned the distinction.

“These student-athletes being recognized by the CRCA for their excellence in the classroom also reinforces the culture we are developing of excellence in all we do,” said ODU Head Coach Brian Conley. “I’m happy we have so many athletes that are recognized and it’s a great way to wrap up the spring season of 2025.”
