NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion women’s basketball head coach DeLisha Milton-Jones has been named an assistant coach to the 2025 USA Basketball Women’s FIBA AmeriCup Team, as announced by USA Basketball on Tuesday.

Dukes’ Kara Lawson was named the team’s head coach, and assisting with Milton-Jones will be Oklahoma’s Jennie Baranczyk.

The coaches were selected by the USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team Committee.

Milton-Jones assumes her third USA Basketball assistant coaching position; she has served in the role at the 2023 FIBA Women's U19 World Cup, helping the team to a gold medal with a 69-66 win over Spain, and at the 2022 FIBA U18 Women's Americas Championship.

Milton-Jones, the women’s basketball head coach at Old Dominion, also served as a court coach at the 2019 Women's U19 and Pan American Games trials. As a player, she captured six gold medals and earned five international tournament titles for the United States, including at the 2008 and 2000 Olympic Games.

A two-time Olympic and World Cup gold medalist, Milton-Jones completed her fifth season at ODU and led the Monarchs to an appearance in the 2025 Sun Belt Championship quarterfinals. Her 2024-25 squad posted an 18-16 record overall with a 9-9 record in conference play. It was the fifth straight winning season for Milton-Jones.

“There’s always a tremendous amount of pride attached to representing USA Basketball whether it’s as a coach or a player,” said ODU Head Coach DeLisha Milton-Jones. “I’m honored that the National Team selection committee saw a need for my talents as an assistant coach for the AmeriCup being held in Chile and I’m thrilled to work alongside an amazing staff as we lead team USA to that coveted Gold medal.”
