NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion head men’s basketball coach Mike Jones announced on Tuesday a home-and-home series with Norfolk State over the next two seasons.

The Monarchs will host the Spartans at Chartway Arena on November 11, 2025, and will play across town at Joseph G. Echols Memorial Hall on November 11, 2026. Both games will fall on Veterans Day in support of the military in the Hampton Roads area.

“We are excited to announce a series with Norfolk State University,” said Jones. “This is a great opportunity to compete in front of our fans in the 757 – the basketball tradition in this area and the talent that has come out of this region – this is a chance for both schools to celebrate that. GAME ON! GO MONARCHS!!!”

ODU leads NSU, 15-6 in the all-time series that dates back to the 1965-66 season. The Monarchs have won five in a row over the Spartans as well as nine of the last 10 meetings.

The two programs last faced each other on December 4, 2022 at Chartway Arena, a game that went to the Monarchs, 68-62.
