NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion women’s tennis faces off against Florida Atlantic in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, May 2.

Old Dominion is coming off its fifth consecutive conference championship, and third consecutive Sun Belt Conference Championship after downing Marshall 4-1 last weekend. The Monarchs are 19-4 overall and head into the NCAA Tournament with a seven-match win streak.
FAU looks to rebound after falling to Tulsa last weekend in the American Athletic Conference semifinals by a 4-3 score. The Owls went undefeated in the regular season with a 16-0 record and are ranked 28th in the ITA.
The two teams spent nine years together in Conference USA but only met twice as league members. The most recent meeting was in the 2021 CUSA Tournament semifinals, with ODU winning 4-1. The Monarchs lead the overall series, 3-0.
The Monarchs come in at 46th in the ITA with both Sofia Johnson and Lidiia Rasskouskaia placing 24th and 117th for singles respectively.
