The ODU Women’s Soccer team celebrated its 2024 season and Saturday evening with their annual banquet in the Scholarship Lounge at Ballard Stadium.
The team celebrated a seventh-consecutive season with a winning record and a trip to SBC Semi-Finals, in which the team tallied an incredible collection of individual accolades including an All-American, a pair of All-Region honorees, two Sun Belt Player of the Year Awards, and six players named to All-Sun Belt teams. Additionally, the team had nine players receive recognition for academic successes this Fall.

Ashlynn Kulha
Ashlynn Kulha was named the team’s 2024 Most Valuable Player and Co-Defensive player of the year. She was named as a United Soccer Coaches third Team All-American and to United Soccer Coaches’ All-Southeast Region 1st Team. She was also named the Sun Belt Defensive player of the and to the All-Sun Belt Conference First Team. Kulha was also named to the VaSID All-State 2nd Team, the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, and was twice named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week in the Fall season.
Emily Bredek
Emily Bredek was named the ODU Women’s Soccer 2024 Co-Defensive Player of the year. She earned United Soccer Coaches third Team All-Southeast Region honors and was the Sun Belt Goalkeeper of the Year. Bredek was also named first Team All-Sun Belt Conference and was once named the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week this Fall. She was also named to the VaSID All-State 2nd Team and the Fall 2024 Dean’s List.
Gry Boe Thrysoe
Gry Boe Thrysoe was named the 2024 ODU Women’s Soccer Midfield Player of the Year. Thrysoe earned a place on the Sun Belt All-Tournament Team and was also named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
Rhea Kijowski
Rhea Kijowski was named the Offensive Player of the Year for the 2024 ODU Women’s Soccer Team. Kijowski tallied second Team All-Sun Belt Conference honors this Fall.
Grace Hillis
Grace Hillis was named ODU Women’s Soccer’s 2024 Newcomer of the Year for her performance this Fall.
Andy Balcazar
Andy Balcazar earned second Team All-Sun Belt Conference honors in the Fall 2024 season. Balcazar was also named to the VaSID All-State second Team and the Fall 2024 Dean’s List at ODU.
Katie Lutz
Katie Lutz earned Sun Belt Women’s Soccer All-Tournament Team honors in 2024. Lutz was also named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
Katie McCormick
Katie McCormick was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for the Fall 2024 season.
Riley Mullen
Riley Mullen was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for the Fall 2024 season.
Sydney Somers
Sydney Somers was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for the Fall 2024 season.
Yuliia Khrystiuk
Yuliia Khrystiuk was named to the Fall 2024 Dean’s List at ODU.
