Old Dominion Men's Basketball's Sean Durugordon Named to All-Sun Belt Third Team

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Old Dominion University men’s basketball guard Sean Durugordon has been selected to the All-Sun Belt Third Team as announced by the conference on Monday.

Durugordon leads ODU in rebounds (8.6) and is second on the team in scoring (15.3 ppg). Playing in all 31 games for the Monarchs, the redshirt senior ranks 11th in the nation with 13 double doubles this season.

A workhorse on the offensive glass, the native of Harlem, New York is ranked sixth in the NCAA averaging 3.90 offensive rebounds per game. 

Durugordon was selected the Sun Belt Player of the Week on January 14 after a pair of 20-point games, leading ODU in scoring in consecutive wins against Louisiana and South Alabama.

The transfer from Siena is shooting 44.6% from the field, has 40 steals, made 13 blocks, and is 77.5% from the charity stripe. Durugordon has scored 1098 points in his career and was honored during Senior Night for reaching the 1000-point milestone.

Against South Alabama, Durugordon scored 27 points and grabbed 18 rebounds, eight of which were offensive. He grabbed 17 rebounds with nine offensive boards against Georgia Southern. Against Texas State, Durugordon scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a 75-64 win against the Bobcats. In a 78-77 win at App State, he scored 25 points on 64.3% shooting from the field and grabbed 12 rebounds with five offensive boards. Durugordon has secured 12+ rebounds in seven games and scored 20+ points in eight games this season.

Old Dominion finished its season as the 10th seed and plays the winner of ULM vs. Louisiana in the second round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Pensacola, Florida on March 5 at 8:30 p.m.
