NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion Lacrosse’s Sarah Murrell has been named the American Athletic Conference’s Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
The freshman from Perryville, Maryland has collected the Freshman of the Week honor for the fourth time this season. In the past week she scored seven goals, dished out one assist, collected one ground ball, caused one turnover, and secured 13 draw controls.
Murrell scored five goals in a 9-8 loss against Mount St. Mary’s. She followed that performance by scoring two goals and registering one assist in a 15-9 win over Charlotte in ODU’s first AAC Conference match of the season.
Alex Kulinski was named an honorable mention after scoring a hat trick in the win over Charlotte while securing one ground ball and causing two turnovers against the 49ers.
ODU lacrosse is back in action on Wednesday, March 19 against Winthrop at 1 p.m. at the LR Hill Sports Complex.
