NEW ORLEANS – Old Dominion University women’s tennis senior Sofia Johnson earned her second Sun Belt Women’s Tennis Player of the Week honor of the season, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Johnson helped ODU to a 2-0 week with a pair of wins at No.1 singles.
The No. 10 ranked player in the country, Johnson defeated App State’s Savannah Dada-Mascoll, 7-5, 6-2, to clinch ODU’s win over the Mountaineers.
On Sunday, Johnson defeated Johanna Strom of Marshall, 6-3, 7-5, to clinch the Monarchs’ win over the Thundering Herd.
Johnson and the Monarchs continue Sun Belt Conference play this weekend at Troy on Saturday and at Georgia State on Sunday.
