EASTON, Pa. – Old Dominion lacrosse came away with a 7-4 road victory against Lafayette on Saturday afternoon.

Alex Kulinski, who was tied for leading scorer last week against VCU, began the day with a goal almost one minute into the first quarter, and continued to attack the net with a second goal just two minutes later. Lydia Laney found the net with six minutes remaining in the first quarter, putting the Monarchs up by a strong 3-0 score.

Sadie Martiesian got things rolling for Lafayette with a goal at almost the 10 minute mark of the second quarter, though Sarah Murrell extended ODU’s lead with her first goal of the game six minutes later. Both teams would be shut out for the remainder of the half, allowing the Monarchs to head into halftime up 4-1.

Leopard Martiesian grabbed her second goal five minutes into the third quarter, though Monarch Kylie O’Donnell netted one of her own a minute later. However, Sophia Spallone scored on a man-up and teammate Kristin Igneri would put Lafayette right back in it with a goal in the last minute of the quarter, bringing the score to 5-4.

Murrell scored her second goal of the game to kickoff the fourth quarter, and after a game-sealing goal from Sydney Taylor with under nine minutes to go, ODU would come away with a hard-fought 7-4 victory.

Kulinski and Murrell once again led the Monarchs in scoring with two goals each, though Murrell also came away with three ground balls and one draw control. Goalie Brynn Bowen came away with eight shots, bringing her total for the season up to 47.

Old Dominion looks to extend its win streak on Wednesday, March 5 at 1 p.m. as they host Howard at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
