NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion’s Sarah Murrell has been named the Lacrosse American Athletic Conference’s Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
In her first career game, Murrell scored four goals on five shots and secured 10 draw controls in a 13-6 win over Longwood. The Freshman out of Perryville, Maryland had one goal and controlled one ground ball in a 14-10 win at Wofford. Murrell helped the Monarchs start 2-0 in a regular season for the first time since 2017.
Old Dominion (2-0) will be in action on Friday, Feb. 14 at 5 p.m. against Furman before heading to Boiling Springs, North Carolina to take on Gardner-Webb on Sunday, Feb. 16 at noon.
