NORFOLK, Va. – Six Old Dominion University Football student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, CSC announced on Wednesday.
Ricardo Williams Jr., Zach Barlev, Maarten Woudsma, Michael Flores, Colton Joseph and Diante Vines earned the honors.
To receive CSC Academic All-District recognition, a student-athlete must meet the following requirements.
- An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
- A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
- Student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
Williams, a leadership major, played in all 12 games at defensive tackle, recording a career-high 20 tackles.
Barlev started all 12 games for the Monarchs on the offensive line, making three starts at left guard and starting the final nine games of the year at left tackle. He is majoring in leadership. Barlev earned third-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors.
Woudsma played in all 12 games, making seven starts on the offensive line. An exercise science major, he started the first two games at right guard and made seven starts at left guard.
Flores started all 12 games at center and is majoring in the master’s sport management program.
Joseph played in nine games, starting eight at quarterback. He completed 133-of-222 passes for 1,627 yards and 11 touchdowns and tied for fourth in the Sun Belt with 11 rushing touchdowns. A Sun Belt honorable mention performer, he is majoring in real estate.
Vines finished third on the Monarchs with 36 receptions for 393 yards and two touchdowns. He is majoring in leadership.
