Allison Isaacs Named Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – For the third week in a row, the Old Dominion women's tennis team had a Player of the Week honoree by the Sun Belt Conference announced on Wednesday as sophomore Allison Isaacs earned the honor this week. 

She joins Sofia Johnson as Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week winners thus far this season.

The Boca Raton, Florida native went 1-0 in singles last weekend, but made the one count. In moving up a spot in the lineup to No. 3, with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Penn State on Sunday as ODU took a 4-0 victory.

Isaacs won the last four games to take the first set and finished the match winning the last three games of the second set. Her singles match against Wake Forest was unfinished on Saturday.

On the spring, Isaacs has only had two matches finish going 1-1 thus far in singles. 

ODU (2-3) returns to action on Friday at noon in Urbandale, Iowa taking on Iowa State.
