NORFOLK, Va. – After receiving votes for the past three weeks, Old Dominion women's basketball returned to the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll on Tuesday.
The Monarchs (17-6, 8-4 Sun Belt) come in at the No. 24 spot with 64 total votes and are the third Sun Belt team included in the rankings after Marshall (No. 21) and James Madison (No. 23). Additionally, Troy is receiving votes. This marks the eighth time this season that ODU has been ranked with the Monarchs listed as high as 10th on Dec.12.
Old Dominion is back at Chartway Arena this week with home games against Coastal Carolina on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and against Marshall on Saturday at 2 p.m. The team has won five of its last six games and is currently tied for fourth in the conference standings with six games remaining in the regular season.
The women's Mid-Major Top 25 is comprised of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Coastal Athletic, Conference USA, Horizon, Independent, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast and Western Athletic.
The Mid-Major Top 25 is released every Tuesday throughout the season.
