NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University Women’s Soccer defender Ashlynn Kulha earned United Soccer Coaches Third-Team All-America honors, the USC announced on Saturday.
A native of Holly Springs, North Carolina, was named the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year and earned first-team all-conference accolades. The leader of the ODU defense, she played every minute in all 20 of ODU’s games this season. Kulha scored one goal on the season and helped lead the defense to nine shutouts.
Kulha was one of three Sun Belt players to earn All-America honors, joining James Madison’s Ginny Lackey and South Alabama’s Irene Campo.
After not having a United Soccer Coaches All-American for the first 24 years, ODU has produced an All-American in back-to-back seasons. Turkoglu earned third-team All-America honors last season.
