NORFOLK, Va. - The NFHCA announced their 2024 D1 All American Teams on Tuesday. Old Dominion’s Frederique Zandbergen has been honored by being selected to the First Team.
Zandbergen, a native of Tilburg in the Netherlands, ranked first in the nation in assists per game (0.94) while leading the team with 17 assists this season. She was also named to the First Team All-BIG EAST this season and first-team all-region accolades. Zandbergen scored four goals to go along with her 17 assists for 21 points. Her 55 career assists ranks 10th in program history.
“This is a well deserved recognition for Freddy. Not only is she a dynamic player, but also a wonderful teammate and person. She has been a great representative of what ODU Field Hockey is all about. She gives her all out on the field, but is also humble and thoughtful, and has worked hard for her success, putting the team first. We are all proud of her.” said ODU Head Coach Andrew Griffiths.
