Norfolk, Va. - The Old Dominion rowing team will continue its fall season on Sunday when the team will be in Norfolk to compete in the Head of the Lafayette.
“We are looking forward to this weekend because it allows us to get back to basics and mix the lineups up to make sure we are all developing together,” said ODU Head Coach Brian Conley.
The Head of the Lafayette is a 5,000-meter head race upon the tidal waters of the Lafayette River. The event will be held on Sunday October 27 and is hosted by the Hampton Roads Rowing Club. The first race will commence at 9:30 a.m. and the final race of the day will start at 12:30 p.m.
“I think it might be our most competitive class day race as the crews were pretty level throughout the week of practice. It’s just fun being able to do something together as a regatta on our own course.” said Conley.
