ORLANDO, Fla. – The Old Dominion men’s soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at Central Florida on Friday night in a Sun Belt Conference matchup.

UCF (4-4-3, 2-3-0) scored quickly tallying a Lucca Dourado goal at the 5:19 mark of the first half off a feed from Ousmane Ba. They finished the scoring with a Mouhamed Pouye goal off a feed by Anderson Rosa with 74 seconds left in the contest for the 2-0 decision.

The Knights held a 20-7 advantage in shots, 8-2 in shots on goal and a slight 7-6 advantage in corner kicks. Michael Statham made six saves for the Monarchs on the night.

“We need to be better in both boxes. We aren’t in a good place right now and we need to figure things out as a group very quickly. It’s time to readjust and go and start turning performances into points,” said ODU Head Coach Tennant McVea.

ODU (4-6-2, 0-4-1) concludes their three-match road swing on Wednesday night with a 7 p.m. kick at Coastal Carolina. The Monarchs return home on October 27 hosting South Carolina at 6 p.m.
