NEW ORLEANS – Old Dominion University Football will host Texas State and travel to Arkansas State from the Sun Belt West Division for the 2024 season, the Sun Belt Conference announced on Thursday.
ODU will host Marshall, James Madison and Georgia Southern and will travel to App State, Coastal Carolina and Georgia State from the Sun Belt East.
Texas State went 8-5 this season and defeated Rice 45-21 in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl. First year head coach GJ Kinne led the Bobcats to their first bowl game and win, and the most FBS wins in program history. It will be the first meeting between ODU and Texas State.
Like ODU, Arkansas State had a three-win improvement from the 2022 season, as the Red Wolves finished 6-7 and lost the Camellia Bowl to Northern Illinois, 21-19. ODU defeated Arkansas State 29-26 in 2022 in the only meeting between the two programs.
All eight of ODU's Sun Belt Conference opponents in 2024 played in bowl games this season.
The full 2024 schedule will be announced by early March.
