NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men’s soccer team takes to the road for the first time this month as they finish the West Virginia portion of their Sun Belt Conference slate visiting seventh-ranked Marshall on Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
The game will have live stats and be streamed on ESPN+.
In last year’s meeting in Norfolk, sixth-ranked Marshall broke open a scoreless first half with a pair of tallies in the final 45 minutes as the Thundering Herd defeated Old Dominion 2-0.
ODU (4-3-1) heads to Huntington after a tough 1-0 loss to fifth-ranked West Virginia in front of 1,767 fans on Saturday night. The Mountaineers tallied their goal at the 53:16 mark and survived several ODU threats down the stretch.
Marshall finished non-conference play on Wednesday night with a 1-0 win over 22nd-ranked VCU as Lineker Rodrigues dos Santos scored his third goal of the season and second in as many games as Dan Rose recorded his second shutout of the season.

ODU trails the all-time series 7-6-1 and have beaten Marshall once in three meetings since both joined the Sun Belt Conference in 2022. The Monarchs took a 2-1 win over then fourth-ranked Marshall on October 15, 2022 behind goals from Michael Eberle and Samuel Mar Kristinsson.
Through eight matches, Eberle leads the team in goals scored (3) and points (7). Key White is next with a team high four assists and one goal for six points, while Timothy Ennin has two goals and two assists for six points as well.
In the net, Michael Statham has three clean sheets, a save percentage of .789 and a goals against average of 1.00 through seven matches. He is third in saves per game, fourth in shutouts per game and second in total shutouts.
The four goals in the win at George Washington were the most in a season opener since 2011 in a 6-0 win over Houston Baptist in a tournament at West Virginia.
Tennant McVea takes over as head coach of the Monarchs from long-time coach Alan Dawson who retired at the end of the 2023 season. He had served on the staff for seven years, including being on the Conference USA winning staff in 2014.
Eberle was named Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week after a pair of game-winning goals against William & Mary and previously undefeated George Mason. He is tied for second in the conference in game-winning goals (2) and is sixth in goals scored (3).

The Herd advanced to the NCAA College Cup Round of 16 last season falling to Stanford 3-0.
Rodrigues dos Santos is tied for the team lead in points with Alexander Stjernegaard at eight and leads in goals with three.
In the net, Rose has started four games with a .769 save percentage, ten saves and a 0.75 goals against average. Aleksa Janjic has also started four games with a .818 save percentage, nine saves and a 0.50 goals against average.
