NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion Monarchs take to the road again on Thursday night as they head up Interstate 64 to face William & Mary at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field in Williamsburg.

ODU enters the contest after a 2-0 loss on Sunday at Liberty. On the game, Liberty held a 9-8 advantage in shots though the Monarchs held a 6-2 lead in shots on goal. Liberty ended with a slight 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.
William & Mary opened its season on August 15 and dropped a 4-1 decision at Big South favorite Radford. Peyton Costello got the Tribe on the board in the 69th minute as she took a feed from Gabriella Kurtas and bounced it into the net.
ABOUT ODU
ODU’s season-opening win over VCU was its first against the Rams in Norfolk since 2008.
ODU has won twice in Williamsburg dating back to 2004. The Monarchs scored a 1-0 win in 2021 on a Megan Watts goal and then back in 2004 in a 2-1 overtime victory. Those are the only two wins in Williamsburg in program history dating back to 1995.
Emily Bredek and Ashlynn Kulha were named to the preseason All-Sun Belt Conference team, while the Monarchs were picked to finish first by the league coaches. Click here for that release.
Through two matches, Rhea Kijowski and Yuliia Khrystiuk have scored goals for the Monarchs while Laura Klebek has the lone assist. Kijowski has taken six shots to lead the team and she shares the shots on goal lead with Khrystiuk and Kulha with three apiece.
In goal, Bredek has recorded five saves in two games with a save percentage of .625.

William & Mary was picked fifth in the Coastal Athletic Association after advancing to the semifinals for the first time since 2017. Ivey Crain was a preseason All-CAA selection, while teammates Nicole Sellers and Molly Widderich were honorable mention choices.
Crain had seven goals and an assist to lead the Tribe with 15 points in 2023. She has tallied 15 points in each of her first two seasons in Williamsburg.
Costello has the lone goal for the Tribe through one game, while Kurtas has the lone assist. In the net, Morgan Wood has one save. Cain leads the team with eight shots and shares the lead with Costello with two shots on goal apiece.
