NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men’s soccer team was recognized on Thursday by the United Soccer Coaches Association on its 2023-24 Team Academic Award list.
This marks the first time since the award was instituted in 1996 that the Monarchs were honored by the association. For the 2023-24 year, the team compiled a 3.29 GPA and was one of 168 men’s teams to receive the award.
A total of 405 soccer teams (168 men, 237 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2023-24 academic year. Of that total, 102 schools had both their men’s and women’s programs recognized.
The Monarchs will host UNC Wilmington in an exhibition game on August 10 at 5 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Stadium.
