Lacrosse Falls to Lehigh, 10-8 on Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Old Dominion Lacrosse team fell to Lehigh 10-8, on Saturday at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Sydney Taylor led the way scoring three goals for the Monarchs.
 
Lehigh (3-1) opened the scoring two minutes into the contest, but ODU rattled off three unanswered goals as Taylor scored the first two goals and with 6:30 left in the quarter Lilly Siskind gave the Monarchs a 3-1 lead. The Mountain Hawks ended up scoring a second goal and tied the match with 1:04 to play in the first. 
 
Lehigh opened the second breaking the tie and giving them a 4-3 lead, but ODU (2-4) responded as Taylor completed her hat-trick with 11:40 to play in the first half, then Corrinne Stratton would give the Monarchs a 5-4 lead. Emma Arnold bolstered the lead for Old Dominion, but the Mountain Hawks cut into it with three minutes to play in the half. ODU would end the first period of play leading 6-5. 
 
Lehigh started the second half of play tying the game, but Arnold quickly gave ODU the lead back. Lehigh tied the game at the 8:26 mark and would take the lead with 33 seconds to play in the third period of action. In the fourth quarter Siskind knotted the game at eight with her second goal of the day but, Lehigh regained the advantage with 9:41 to play and added a late goal to take the win 10-8.
 
ODU is back in action on Tuesday, March 5 at 1 p.m. when they host George Washington at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
