NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion sailing team competed in the Graham Hall Team Race and St. Mary's Women's fleet race on Saturday and Sunday. The Monarchs placed ninth out of 16 teams at the Graham Hall Team Race and finished 12th out of 15 teams at the St. Mary's Fleet Race.
Old Dominion went 6-9 at the Graham Hall team race. The Skippers were Parker Purrington, Diogo Silva and Noyl Odom while the crews were Asia Acosta, Cadence Goodnight, Ethan Tutt and Parker Younger. ODU defeated Tufts, Tulane, Penn, Fordham, George Washington and NY Maritime.
ODU competed in two divisions at the St. Mary's Fleet Race. The Division A team featured Elizabeth Gildea for races 1-4, Gianna Dewey for races 5-6, Allison Volk for races 1-12 and Molly Hanson for races 13 and 14. The team finished ninth out of 15 in Division A with six top five finishes and the highest being first. The Division B team featured Emma Freidauer and Morgan Auth who placed 13th out of 15. The pair's highest finish was fifth.
The Monarchs are back in action Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 at the Aaron Szambecki Team Race in Norfolk and the Hanbury Trophy in Hampton.
