NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion Sailing team competed in three races over the weekend with them being the John Jackson Memorial Team Race, Jen Harris women's Team Race and CNU Women's team race.
ODU took third out of eight teams at the John Jackson Memorial. The boats featured Parker Purrington, Diogo Silva and Noyl Odom as the skippers and the crews were Cadence Goodnight, Ethan Tutt and Parker Younger. The Monarchs finished with a 5-2 record as ODU defeated Connecticut, Fordham, Penn, Tulane and Vermont.
The Monarchs took eighth out of 12 teams at the Jen Harris Women's Team Race. The boats featured Elizabeth Gildea, Megan Geith and Gianna Dewey as skippers and the crew was Morgan Auth, Lindsey Kaufmann and Allison Volk. ODU finished with a 4-7 record defeating Charleston, Navy, Hobart & William along with George Washington.
Old Dominion took third out of six teams and the CNU women's race. The division A team that took seventh featured Emma Freidauer and Kaylin Irving and the division B that took fifth featured Olivia Gilmore and Isabelle Kanach. The division A team had five top 5 finishes with the best being fourth. The division A team had seven top 5 finishes with the best being second twice.
ODU is back in action on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17 at the Graham Hall team race and the St. Mary's team race.
