NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion sailing team is back in action this weekend for two races on Saturday and Sunday. The DC team race will take place in Alexandria, Virginia and the ODU Women's Spring Race will be hosted by the Monarchs in Norfolk.

ODU'S open squad will take on Georgetown, George Washington, Cornell and St Mary's College this weekend at Georgetown's home venue, the Washington Sailing Marina for the DC team race. The first open team race of the season is an in-conference matchup with last year's conference champions Georgetown and runners-up St. Mary's. Teams will face off in the three-on-three team racing discipline of the sport. Scoring is wins and losses and format is a multi-round round robin.

The Women's Sailing squad will host teams from St Mary's College, Georgetown, Penn, the Naval Academy and Wisconsin at the ODU Women's Spring Race. Coming off a strong third place finish in last week's USF Team Race, the Monarchs hope to continue their momentum against the top 3 teams from 2023 in the conference. Racing will commence at the ODU Sailing Center around 10:30am on Saturday and Sunday, pending weather. The format is a triple round robin with win totals deciding the final standings.
