NORFOLK, Va. –The Old Dominion Women's Lacrosse team will hit the road to take on Longwood on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. at Elizabeth Burger Jackson Field. This will mark the fourth of six in-state schools the Monarchs will face this season. 
 
The Monarchs are coming off a thrilling victory last Wednesday defeating VCU 8-7 at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex. Olivia Tanneberger scored the decisive goal to lift ODU over the Rams with 1:30 to play. Lilly Siskind led the Monarchs with five points scoring a hat trick and assisting another two goals. Jenna Peccia made eight saves in net while also causing three turnovers and scooping up eight groundballs. The win was the first over VCU since 2020. Siskind has a team-high in points (8), goals (5) and assists (3). Emma Arnold follows her with seven points and is tied with five goals. Arnold leads the team with eight draw controls and is also tied for a team-high seven caused turnovers with Lauren Carey. Peccia leads the Monarchs with 13 groundballs. 
 
Longwood is coming off a 15-11 loss to Kennesaw State on Saturday in Farmville. Libby Claire is tied with Emily Cate Smith for the team lead in points (6). Claire is tied with teammates Sophia Passa and Riley McDonald with three goals. Smith leads the Lancers with four assists. 
 
ODU and Longwood met last season in Norfolk with the outcome favoring the Monarchs 18-10. Old Dominion leads the all-time series 9-4 and is riding a three-game win streak against the Lancers.
