TAMPA, Fla. – The Old Dominion Women's Sailing team opened their spring season on Saturday and Sunday when they placed third out of seven teams at the USF Women's Team Race. Elizabeth Gildea, Megan Gieth and Gianna Dewey represented one boat for the Monarchs and the second boat featured Cadence Goodnight, Lindsey Kaufmann and Allison Volk.
ODU finished round one with a 3-3 record as they defeated Jacksonville, Northwestern and Hawaii. Round two for the Monarchs was the same with a 3-3 record this time defeating MIT, Northwestern and Hawaii. Old Dominion finished round three with a 5-1 record with the one loss coming to College of Charleston who eventually won the event. The Monarchs finished the event with an 11-7 record trailing MIT and College of Charleston.
ODU is back in action on Saturday and Sunday at the DC Team Race in Alexandria, Virginia.
