NEW ORLEANS – Following a 2-0 week for Old Dominion women's basketball, senior guard Jordan McLaughlin has been voted the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, McLaughlin led the Monarchs (17-6, 8-4 Sun Belt) in scoring with 38 points (19.0 ppg) and helped clinch wins over Troy and Kent State. On Tuesday against the Trojans, she scored a game-high 21 points while shooting 8-for-15 (.533) from the field and added four rebounds, three assists and three steals to her totals. With the game knotted at 56-56, she made 5-of-6 free-throw attempts down the stretch and scored the final seven points for ODU to close out a 63-59 victory.

On Saturday at Kent State, she scored 17 points with eight rebounds and three assists. ODU trailed by 10, 56-46, with less than two minutes to play in the third quarter. The Monarchs then used a 13-0 run in the fourth quarter to take over control and McLaughlin converted 9-of-10 shots at the line to close out ODU's second game in this season's MAC-Sun Belt Challenge, 82-76.

This marks McLaughlin's first career weekly honor. She is the first Monarch to earn the award since Amari Young was selected Sun Belt Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Dec. 13, 2022.

ODU has a pair of home games this week as the Monarchs host Coastal Carolina at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Marshall this Saturday at 2 p.m. in what will be the team's Play4Kay game.
