NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's basketball team starts a four-game road swing on Thursday night as they visit Troy for a 7:00 p.m. EST tip. They will then head to Jonesboro, Arkansas to face Arkansas State on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. EST.

This will be the second all-time meeting between ODU and Troy. These teams met last year at Troy and the Monarchs dropped a 78-71 decision to the Trojans.
 
This will be the third all-time meeting with Arkansas State as the series is tied 1-1. The Red Wolves took a 60-57 win at ODU on Dec. 29, 2022 in the Sun Belt opener. This is the first meeting at Arkansas State.
 
ABOUT ODU
The Monarchs start 2024 after dropping a 61-59 decision to South Alabama on December 30 at home.
 
Vasean Allette was the leading scorer for ODU with 15 points and a season-high five steals, while R.J. Blakney had 12 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots.
 
Allette leads the team in scoring averaging 15.8 points per game to go with 5.3 rebounds, 28 assists and a team-high 26 steals. Chaunce Jenkins is right behind him at 15.0 points per game, along with 3.8 rebounds and a team-high 34 assists along with a team-high 13 blocks. Tyrone Williams is third in scoring at 12.3 points per game and leads in rebounding at 6.4 per game.
 
As a team, the Monarchs are averaging 70.3 points per game and allowing 76.3. They are hitting .433 from the floor compared to .446 for opponents. The Trojans opened conference play on Saturday with a road victory knocking off Coastal Carolina 72-65 in Conway, South Carolina. Myles Rigsby and Christyon Eugene had 20 points apiece to lead Troy to the road win.
 
As a team, Troy is averaging 82.4 points per game and allowing 70.7. From the floor they're hitting .439 to their opponents .423. Behind the arc, the Trojans have hit 122 3-pointers at a .358 clip and allowing opponents to hit .335. At the foul line, Troy has hit .724 this year to opponents .674. Eugene leads three in double figures for Troy at 16.4 points, leads in assists with 51 and shares the team lead in rebounding at 5.2 per game. The Red Wolves opened conference play dropping a 91-90 contest to Georgia State on December 30 in Atlanta. Avery Felts had 21 points and Caleb Fields added 20 to lead four in double figures for Arkansas State. 
 
Arkansas State hosts Georgia Southern on Thursday night before tangling with ODU on Saturday afternoon. As a team, they enter the week averaging 75.5 points per game and allowing 78.9. From the floor, they're hitting .420 while opponents are at a .454 clip. Arkansas State is hitting .331 from 3-point range, while allowing opponents a .295 clip and at the line they're hitting .681 with opponents hitting .747. Rebounding sees Arkansas State holding a slight edge 38.3 to 37.7.
 
Dyondre Dominguez leads four in double figures for Arkansas State averaging 12.7 points per game and leads in rebounding at 8.3 per game. Freddy Hicks averages 11 points and 4.7 rebounds per contest, while Taryn Todd is chipping in 10.9 points per game and leads the team in steals with 14. Fields rounds out the double figure scorers at 10.1 points per game and a team best 47 assists.
