NORFOLK, Va. – The second round of the Men's Basketball Sun Belt-Mid-American Conference Challenge opponents were announced on Monday afternoon and the Monarchs learned of their opponent for February 10 on ESPN+.
 
ODU will host the Chippewas of Central Michigan at Chartway Arena  on February 10 with game time TBD. This will be the first-ever meeting between the schools. The Monarchs dropped a 73-68 decision at Ball State back on November 11 in the opening round of the challenge. Central Michigan fell 74-64 to ULM in its opening challenge game.
 
Central Michigan is currently 9-9 on the season with Anthony Pritchard leading the Chippewas in scoring at 13.8 points per game. Brian Taylor averages 12.6 points and a team-best 7.6 rebounds per game. CMU is coming off a 65-62 win over Toledo on Friday night.
 
The Chippewas finished their 2022-23 campaign 10-21 overall and 5-13 in the MAC to finish in ninth place and failed to qualify for the MAC Tournament. They did have a 63-61 win over Michigan last season.
 
Old Dominion closes out this week with a pair of home matchups starting on Wednesday night with a 7:00 p.m. tip against James Madison in the TowneBank Royal Rivalry. The Monarchs close out their four-game homestand on Saturday night with Alumni Night hosting Georgia Southern also at 7:00 p.m. for Alumni Night.
