NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University Football will open the year on Saturday, Sept. 2 on the road at Virginia Tech in an 8 p.m. contest on the ACC Network, while the Monarchs return home the following week to take on Louisiana at 6 p.m., ESPN announced on Wednesday.
The 2023 season opener at Virginia Tech will be the third meeting in Blacksburg but the first night game between the two schools at Lane Stadium.
Old Dominion hosts Louisiana on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. on ESPN+. It will be the first meeting between the two schools.
The game with Louisiana will be the first of three-straight home games and will be followed by Wake Forest on Saturday, Sept. 16. The second meeting between ODU and the Demon Deacons will begin at noon and will be on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.
On Saturday, Sept. 23 ODU hosts Texas A&M University-Commerce in a game that was previously announced as a 3:30 p.m. start. ODU's Homecoming contest game time is subject to change.
Also announced on Wednesday, ODU's game at Liberty on Saturday, Nov. 11 will start at 1 p.m. but is subject to change. ESPN will announce a television platform in the 12-day selection window during the season.
