The ODU tandem took the first set winning the last three games to rally from a 5-4 deficit. In the second, Illinois jumped out to a 5-1 lead before winning 6-3. The third-set tiebreaker saw the Illini tandem score six of the last eight points to win 10-7.

"It was a strong season for us. We hoped to go a little bit deeper in the tourney, but we are equally proud to be here," said ODU Head Coach Dominic Manilla. "We will continue to work hard to win bigger matches in bigger tournaments. I am proud of this team. Thank you to our players, coach Sokolenko, support staff and administration for once again trusting me to lead this team. It is amongst the greatest joys in my life to coach this team and call myself a Monarch. I can't wait for next season."
