NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's tennis team made a little history on Tuesday afternoon when the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Top 75 poll came out and the Monarchs were ranked 16th. That is the highest ranking in team history.

ODU (5-2) has wins this season over Penn State (5-2), Columbia (4-0), Florida State (4-1) and a pair over Wake Forest (4-3/5-2). The only blemishes thus far are against currently second-ranked Ohio State (4-0) and fourth-ranked Iowa State (4-1).

Individually, Tatsiana Sasnouskaya is ranked 19th in singles, while she and Sofia Johnson are 26th in doubles.

"It's always great for the program to be recognized for their hard work and accomplishments. Like always, the current women's tennis program at Old Dominion is looking to get better.  This team set the bar again," said ODU Head Coach Dominic Manilla.

ODU is back at home on Saturday at 1 p.m. against #52 Princeton inside Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
