Zandbergen and de Bruijne Named NFHCA Third Team All-Americans


GENEVA, N.Y. – Marlon de Bruijne and Frederique Zandbergen of the Old Dominion Field Hockey team were named National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Third-Team All-Americans on Tuesday.
Zandbergen was a BIG EAST First Team All-Conference Member, BIG EAST All-Tournament Team member and named to the NFHCA All South Region First Team. She led the BIG EAST with 17 assists and added three goals for 20 points. She has five multiple assist games with her high being four assists against Quinnipiac. In the BIG EAST Championship, Zandbergen assisted two goals and scored one as the Monarchs secured their first BIG EAST Conference Tournament Title. 
de Bruijne led the BIG EAST in points (42), goals (18) and six game winning goals. She added six assists which tied her career high and scored multiple goals in four games, her season high was against Queens with three goals. de Bruijne was named BIG EAST First Team All-Conference, BIG EAST All-Tournament Team, and NFHCA First Team All-South Region.
