NEW ORLEANS, La. – Gianna Dewey of the Old Dominion Sailing team competed in the Singlehanded National Championships at Tulane over the weekend. Dewey is the second Monarch in as many years to compete in the National Championships. She placed 14th out of 18 sailors. Last season Emma Friedauer placed 15th in the National Championships.
Dewey took third in the Faye Bennett Women's Singlehanded Conference Championships to qualify for the National Championships. Her highest finish was second place and she finished inside the top 10 four times.
