NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion Men's and Women's swimming teams are back in action this Saturday, Oct. 28 when they head to Buies Creek, North Carolin for a tri-meet with Campbell and Gardner-Webb starting at 11 a.m.
The Monarchs fell to Towson last weekend with the men's score being 116-89 and the women's score being 136.5-68.5. Martina Ciriesi was named women's Sun Belt Swimmer of the Week; she finished first in the women's 200 breast with a time of 2:24.46 and added a second-place finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:36.05.
Yagiz Ari took first in the men's 500 free with a time of 4:36.79 and the men's 100 free with a time of 9:31.44. Mary Dunworth was first in the women's 50 free with a time of 24.40. Bryce Mortimer won the men's 400 IM with a time of 4:08.08 and Jamie Cleaver placed first in the men's 200 fly with a time of 1:51.89.
ODU's next meet will be on Friday, Nov. 3 when the Monarchs travel to Charlotte, North Carolina for a tri-meet with Queens (CLT) and Colorado State starting at 4 p.m.
