NEW YORK – Marlon de Bruijne of the Old Dominion Field Hockey team was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after, the conference announced on Tuesday.
 
de Bruijne helped the Monarchs to a 2-0 weekend and extended the team's win streak to seven games when she scored two goals with two assists in a 6-5 win over Villanova on Friday. She scored her third goal of the weekend on a penalty stroke in a 4-0 win over Richmond on Sunday.
 
Sacha de Gier and Nicole Fredricks were named to the Weekly Honor Roll for their performances over the weekend. Fredricks scored one goal and helped the Monarchs get their sixth shutout of the year against Richmond. De Gier scored one goal and had one assist in the win over Villanova and scored two goals in the win over Richmond.
 
The Monarchs are back in action on Friday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. when they host the Quinnipiac Bobcats for Senior Day at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
