NEW YORK – Marlon de Bruijne of the Old Dominion Field Hockey team was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after her performance over the weekend.
de Bruijne helped the Monarchs to a 2-0 weekend with wins over Georgetown and Hofstra. In the 5-0 win de Bruijne scored a goal and recorded an assist and in the win over Hofstra 4-1 she scored two goals. de Bruijne currently leads the team with 22 points and 10 goals.
Nicole Fredricks was also named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll as she commanded the defensive back line for the Monarchs which only surrendered one goal over the weekend on a penalty stroke.
The Monarchs are back in action on Friday, Oct. 13 when they travel to Villanova for a BIG EAST matchup starting at 3 p.m.
