NORFOLK, Va. – After finishing a five-match road trip 2-0-3, the Old Dominion Monarchs return home to face in-state rival VCU in a men's soccer match Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Stadium.
 
Tuesday's contest will be First Responders Night and Monarchs Give Back Night as any fans who bring a canned good or non-perishable item will also get in free. 
 
ODU (2-0-4) opened Sun Belt Conference play with a 2-2 draw at Georgia State. Key White and Nicholas Alves tallied goals for the Monarchs, both off feeds from William Arnesen.
 
VCU (0-3-3) opened Atlantic 10 play on Saturday night with a 0-0 draw against St. Louis as John Ermini made one save on the night for the Rams.
 
ODU leads the series 28-11-5 as the teams have alternated wins in the last six meetings. The Monarchs got three assists from Jonas Schmalbach last year in a 4-1 win in Richmond.
 
ABOUT ODU
White, Schmalbach and Karan Mandair lead the team with two goals each for four points. Arnesen joins that group with four points having scored one goal and two assists. Alves now has one goal and one assist for three points, while Nathan Lam leads with three assists for three points as well.
 
With the draw Saturday, the Monarchs matched the 2012 team for unbeaten start to a season at six.

The Rams have had ties with nationally-ranked New Hampshire (1-1), American (2-2) and St. Louis (0-0), while falling to nationally-ranked FIU (4-0), North Carolina (4-1) and nationally-ranked Missouri State (1-0).
 
Andrey Salmeron, Nolan Coetzee, Damian Gallegos, William Hitchcock have scored one goal apiece for VCU, while Moussa Ndiaye and Camilo Comi each have one assist. They have been outshot 90-36 in six matches thus far.
