ATLANTA, Ga. Key White and Nicholas Alves scored for Old Dominion on Saturday night, but a Georgia State tally with 92 seconds left allowed the game to end in a 2-2 draw in the Sun Belt Conference opener for both squads.

Monarchs controlled possession in the first 10 minutes keeping the Panthers locked on the defensive end. Old Dominion opened the scoring at 13:24 of the opening half as William Arnesen sent a cross-field pass to Key White on the right side of the penalty box and he blasted his second goal of the year into the left corner of the net for an early 1-0 ODU lead.

Georgia State answered right back 57 seconds later on a Charlie Ward tap-in off a set piece feed by Justin McLean at 14:21 to level the match at 1-1.

Nicholas Alves gave the Monarchs a 2-1 lead with a stellar goal off a feed by Arnesen. Alves had a tough angle on the goal but slid it past Josue Hangi for a 2-1 advantage at 58:21.

The Panthers tied the match with 92 seconds left on a goal from Ethan Sassine who found the back of the net off feeds from Hideto Gondo and Bryan Silva to tie the match.

Shots were even in the match 14-14, while Georgia State had 10 corner kicks to none for ODU.

The Monarchs return home for the first time since the season opener to face VCU on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. to start a four-match homestand.
