NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion Sailing team and head coach Mitch Brindley announced the teams fall schedule Wednesday morning.
The team starts off the fall on Sept. 9 with the Laser South Regatta in Annapolis, Maryland. They will also be competing in the Women's regatta combined on Sept. 9 in Annapolis. The Monarchs will then return to Norfolk for the Riley Cup on Sept. 10.
ODU heads back to Annapolis, Maryland Sept. 16-17 where they will compete in the Chesapeake Invitational Regatta and the Faye Bennett Regatta.
Old Dominion will then compete in the Top 9 Combined/ singlehanded regatta in Kings Point, New York on Sept. 23 and 24.
The Monarchs will compete in the Women's Atlantic Coast Championships prelims on Sept. 30 in St. Mary's Maryland. They will then head south to Charleston to be part of the College of Charleston Interconference on Oct. 1
Old Dominion will then take part in the Open Atlantic Championship prelims on Oct. 7 in Boston, Massachusetts. They will then compete in the Oyster Bowl in St. Mary's, Maryland. And after that return for the Webb/ Woollum regatta in Hampton, Virginia.
ODU will be competing in the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship on Oct. 14 and will be hosted at either Brown or Yale. The Nevins Trophy Regatta will take place the same day in Kings Point, New York. The Monarchs return home for the Mid-Atlantic Interscholastic Sailing Association race in Norfolk on Oct. 15.
On Oct. 21 the Open Atlantic Championships will be held at Navy or St. Mary's. The Monarchs will then participate in the Tom Curtis (4 division) race in Alexandria, Virginia on Oct. 22.
ODU will compete in the War Memorial race in Ithaca, New York on Oct. 28 and on Oct. 29 the team will take on the MAISA Fall Women's race in Kings Point, New York
The Monarchs will wrap up its fall season Nov. 11-12 at the Men's and Women's singlehanded National Championships in New Orleans, Louisiana.
