NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion Rowing head coach Brian Conley announced the hiring of Ashley Ball on Friday. In addition, Zoe Adamson has been promoted to first assistant coach.
Ball was part of the women's rowing team at Tennessee from 2017 to 2021. Following here rowing career at Tennessee she became a Finance and Accounting outsourcing senior associate with RMS US LLP in Washington, D.C.
Ball obtained many accolades in her four-year career for the Vols. She stroked the 2v8 to a 16th place finish in the 2021 NCAA Championships and helped contribute to the Volunteers placing 17th overall at the 2021 NCAA Championships. Ball was part of the 2v8 that took second place at the BIG 12 Championships. At the UVA Invite in 2021, she helped the 2v8 upset No. 3 Virginia.
She was named University of Tennessee Female Rookie of the Year in 2019, was named most valuable rower for the team in 2019 and in 2021 was named most inspirational rower.

Head coach Brian Conley stated, "I am excited about Ashley coming on board. It was clear in the hiring process that Ashley had the good race experience, culture development work and strong desire to bring ODU to the top of collegiate rowing. Ashley brings a diverse experience with work in the private sector, but also having been at Tennessee when they were re-developing and working their way back to the NCAA Championships. She is a strong leader and will help bring the next generation of Monarchs along to the next level of rowing."
