NORFOLK, Va. – With the 2023 football season about a month away and the Old Dominion Football home opener 37 days away, we wanted to prepare Monarch Nation for all of the gameday activities they can expect to see in and around Kornblau Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium this season.
Game Info
The second home game of the season is on Saturday, Sept. 16 at noon against Wake Forest. The game will be broadcast on either ESPN2 or ESPNU. It will be the second meeting between the Monarchs and Demon Deacons, and the first in Norfolk. Wake defeated ODU in the 2021 season opener, 42-10.
The official game ball will be dropped in by the Leap Frogs, the U.S. Navy Jump Team.
Chartway Federal Credit Union is the game sponsor and official credit union of ODU Athletics. The credit union's charitable arm, the Chartway Promise Foundation, has big plans during the first half of the game. The foundation, which provides financial support to make dreams and wishes come to life for medically fragile children and their families, will take to the field to deliver on a young man's dreams with a charitable donation to Toby's Dream Foundation. The details of the Wish Reveal and the Promise hero recipient are under wraps until game day to ensure it's a surprise.

Youth cheer programs have the opportunity to partake in an exclusive practice/clinic with ODU cheer and dance the week prior to the game. On gameday, youth teams will join ODU cheer for all pregame festivities and perform during a timeout inside of S.B. Ballard Stadium. Kaufman Mall
The exciting pregame atmosphere returns at Kaufman Mall beginning four hours prior to kickoff. A local DJ will be on stage pumping up the crowd beginning at 8 a.m. Kaufman Mall staples, the big screen TV and Beer Garden return for the 2023 season.

The Deck returns for its second year and has expanded to being an add-on to an individual ticket. Single-game and season tickets for The Deck are on sale. The Deck is a premium hospitality area on the west concourse of S.B. Ballard Stadium. It offers a great atmosphere, top-notch amenities and the sights and sounds of gameday from the open-air premium hospitality area with complimentary catering! Limited availability. Premium Seating options are available at S.B. Ballard Stadium for an upscale game day experience.
