PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Old Dominion golfer Leah Onosato finished the opening round of the 2023 Palm Beach Gardens Regional on Monday. The three-day tournament is being held at the PGA National Resort's par 72, 6,318-yard course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

After 18 holes played, Onosato is tied for 61st with a nine-over par 81. The graduate student from Kumamoto, Japan made two birdies, both on the back nine, and sank seven putts for par.

"It was a hard day all the way around," ODU head coach Mallory Kane said. "That happens sometimes in golf. Leah has done this long enough to understand she's capable of a better round tomorrow. She's in good spirits and is excited to play again."

Play resumes with the second round of the regional tomorrow. Onosato will tee off from the 10th hole at 8:55 a.m.
