MADISON, Miss. – Old Dominion men's golf concluded its 2022-23 season on Wednesday as the Monarchs finished the third and final round of stroke play at the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Men's Golf Championship, held at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Mississippi.
As a team, ODU placed 14th with a combined 54-hole total of 48-over par 912. Georgia Southern finished atop the team leaderboard with a three-under 861, South Alabama was a stroke behind and in second place at 862, and Troy and Louisiana both both fired six-over 870s to tie for third. The four programs advance to the championship semifinals on Thursday morning.
Kaijun Ma was the top individual finisher for the Monarchs, tying for 25th at six-over 222. His best round came on Tuesday as he tallied seven birdies for a one-under 71. Aleksander Bjorge was next as the freshman posted a 12-over 228 to tie for 48th. Jakob Chicoyne had the best round for the team, a two-under 70 on Day Two of the tournament. His three-day total of 230 (+14) tie him for 59th. Jakob Henriksson carded a 235 (+19) to come in 64th, and Philip Minnehan was 69th at 16-over 160 after competing in the first and third rounds.
Ma converted a team-high 10 putts for birdie and had an average of 4.83 in par-5 scoring.
