NEW ORLEANS -- The Sun Belt Conference announced the pairings for the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Championships on Sunday evening and Old Dominion learned its potential opponent for Thursday's quarterfinals.

The event begins Wednesday with the first round and runs through Saturday at the Peachtree City Tennis Center outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Seeds 3-14 will play in the first round on Wednesday, while ODU and second-seeded James Madison received byes to the quarterfinals.

Top-seeded ODU (15-4) will face the winner of eighth-seeded Troy and ninth-seeded Texas State on Thursday at 10 a.m. A win would then put the Monarchs in a 10 a.m. Friday semifinal, with the final scheduled for 1 p.m. with all matches on ESPN+.

Old Dominion defeated Texas State 4-3 in the opening weekend of conference play, marking the closest match against a league opponent. The Monarchs didn't face Troy this spring.

"We have had our eyes on the conference tournament for a few weeks now. Not that we have been looking ahead, but we just enjoy the post season. Our players have put in a lot of work to get to this point. The energy is different when going home is on the line," said ODU Head Coach Dominic Manilla.
