ODU Lacrosse Falls To Cincinnati 17-7

CINCINNATI, OHIO – The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team fell to Cincinnati on Saturday, 17-7 at Nippert Stadium. 
 
Callie Culhane led the Monarchs offensively scoring two goals. 
 
Cincinnati (11-6, 3-3) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first quarter. Sydney Taylor cut into the Bearcat lead with a goal, but Cincinnati would score four more goals before the end of the first quarter. 
 
The Bearcats extended the lead with a goal to start the second quarter. ODU (4-12, 0-5) would get one back when Olivia Tanneberger found the back of the net. The Monarchs cut into the lead when Jessica Pisani ripped a shot into the back of the net making it 8-3. Cincinnati would score another goal and take a 9-3 lead into halftime. 
 
Cincinnati controlled the third quarter with five goals to take a 14-3 lead into the fourth quarter.
 
The fourth quarter started with Cincinnati scoring two goals making it 16-3. ODU scored three goals following that as Culhane would score to cut into the lead, shortly after Emily Raech would score her first goal of the season for making it 16-5. ODU wasn't done there was Culhane scored her second goal of the day. The Bearcats responded with another goal and with one minute and thirty seconds left Moira Olexa scored to make it 17-7 but was too much for the Monarchs to overcome.
 
 
ODU wraps up the regular season with senior day on Saturday, April 29 at noon when they take on the Florida Gators.
