Women's Tennis Blanks Georgia Southern 4-0

STATESBORO, Ga. – The 31st-ranked Old Dominion women's tennis team clinched at least a share of the Sun Belt Conference regular season title on Sunday afternoon with a 4-0 win at Georgia Southern.
 
In doubles, all three matches were completed as the Monarchs took the team point with wins at the one and two spots. Allison Isaacs and Alexandra Viktorovitch took a 6-1 win over Nanaka Kijima and Liv Ryan at line two for the first win. After Georgia Southern won at line three, Sofia Johnson and Tatsiana Sasnouskaya won 6-3 at line one over Sonja Keranen and Ana Tsitavets to lock up the point.
 
Singles saw the Monarchs win three straight to end the match. Isaacs took the first win at line six 6-2, 6-0 over Sophie Wagemaker, while Viktorovitch was a 6-4, 6-4 winner over Paula Hijos at line five for a 3-0 lead. Sasnouskaya finished the match with a 6-4, 7-5 win at line one over Tsitavets.
 
"Overall a strong performance by our squad this weekend. We are looking strong and poised heading into our last regular-season match. We have some minor things to touch up, but we are firing on all cylinders," said ODU Head Coach Dominic Manilla.
 
Old Dominion (14-4, 9-0) can claim the outright title on Saturday morning hosting App State at 10 a.m. at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center with a win.
